Amazon Integration

Publish your enriched catalogue to Amazon Marketplace, either as an Amazon Marketplace XML feed or a direct, always-in-sync connection.

Why connect Amazon?

Amazon Marketplace is one of the key sales channels, and increasingly a source of product recommendations in AI shopping assistants too. Connecting it to Ranketta lets you:

  • Ship the improved catalogue to Amazon: the Amazon Marketplace channel carries the titles, descriptions, bullet points and identifiers your agents approved in Proposals.
  • See how products perform in AI: Ranketta tracks your products' AI visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overview regardless of which marketplace you sell on.

Prerequisites

  • An Amazon Seller Central account (Professional selling plan, needed for the feed upload path)
  • Your Seller ID (MerchantIdentifier) from Seller Central → SettingsAccount Info (feed upload path only)
  • A Ranketta account with access to Shopping

Two ways to publish

Amazon is one of the channels that supports a direct, OAuth-based connection in addition to the classic feed file. Pick whichever fits how hands-off you want this to be, you can switch later.

  1. In Ranketta, open Channels and enable the Amazon Marketplace XML format.
  2. When prompted, choose Connect your account instead of Get a feed URL.
  3. Authorize Ranketta's access to your Amazon Seller account and pick the destination account.
  4. Ranketta pushes your enriched catalogue directly from then on. The channel card shows connection status, synced product count, last sync time, and any product-level issues Amazon reports back. Use Sync now to push on demand, or Disconnect to stop.

Option B: upload a feed file

  1. In Ranketta, open Channels and create a new channel in the Amazon Marketplace XML format, choosing Get a feed URL when prompted.
  2. In the channel settings, fill in:
    • Seller ID (MerchantIdentifier), required, otherwise Seller Central rejects the feed.
    • Default ItemType, optional, used as the fallback category for products where it can't be derived from other data (some categories let Amazon infer it from the title on its own).
  3. Set up your filters (availability, GTIN) and field mapping the same way as any other channel.
  4. Copy the channel's public URL, or download the feed directly.
  5. In Seller Central, open CatalogAdd Products via UploadInventory Files and upload the file as a Product Data feed.
  6. Amazon processes the feed and returns a report of which items succeeded and which didn't.

The feed rebuilds in Ranketta whenever approved content changes, so the next time you upload it to Seller Central, it already carries the latest version of your catalogue.

FAQ

Can I use Amazon as a feed source too, not just as a channel?
No. Amazon doesn't expose a public feed URL that can be pulled on a schedule, so it only works as a publishing destination. Use whichever platform your products actually come from as the feed source (Google Merchant Center, Heureka, Shoptet, or a custom XML/CSV/JSON feed).

Where do I find my Seller ID?
In Seller Central under SettingsAccount Info, the Merchant Token / Merchant ID field. You only need this for the feed upload path, the direct connection doesn't require it.

What happens if I don't fill in a Default ItemType?
For a lot of categories, Amazon can infer it from the product title on its own. If it can't and the field is empty, Amazon rejects that item from the feed, so it's worth setting a sensible fallback.

Does the channel handle product variants (colour, size)?
Yes. For products that are variants (with color/size set), the feed generates the required VariationData so Amazon groups them correctly under the same parent product.

Does Ranketta figure out on its own whether I have an EAN, UPC, or a generic GTIN?
Yes. Based on the digit count of the identifier (12 = UPC, 13 = EAN, 14 = GTIN), it's automatically placed in the correct StandardProductID field.
